Planning, managing and designing cityes has become very complex. How to deal with the complexity, richness and constant change of cities and at the same time suggest interesting design propositions that combine sustainable design with the need for economic development and growth?

Tomaz teaches urban design based on dynamic urban planning and diagramatization of processes. Methodology address the city as a cohabitation of multitude of processes. By understanding these processes as building blocks of a city we approach the problematic of the city bottom up, where processes are seen as functions of urban systems. Students would typically learn urban mapping, indexing territories, creating diagrams of urban, industrial and ecological processes, diagramatization of urban design as processual machine, and finally actual urban design. During the year, students also learn how to use Rhinoceros 3D, Rhino Terrain, Grasshopper and V-Ray to construct, design and present their work.

Seminar in method for Urban Research
This seminar explored the meaning behind the most fashionable and the most abused words in architecture and urbanism. We combined reading of short texts from diverse people like Koolhaas, Cronon and Arendt with drawing investigation of case studies through which these texts and the abused words were interpreted and explored.

The studio was investigating possibilities of new civic spaces and composite civic order in rural-industrial area of Shipai, Dongguan. Topic of research was living and public spaces based on industrial and agricultural environments.
